In a world increasingly focused on sustainability, businesses are recognizing the importance of aligning their marketing efforts with environmentally conscious values. Building a sustainable marketing system for everyday sales not only attracts eco-conscious consumers but also contributes to a more ethical and responsible business model. In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the process of creating a sustainable marketing system that promotes your products while respecting the planet.

Step 1: Define Your Sustainability Values:

Start by identifying your business’s core sustainability values. Determine the environmental issues that resonate with your brand and your target audience. Whether it’s reducing waste, conserving energy, or supporting local communities, your values will guide your marketing strategy.

Step 2: Green Product Offerings:

Ensure that your products or services align with your sustainability values. If possible, source eco-friendly materials, use sustainable production methods, and create products with minimal environmental impact. Highlight these green attributes in your marketing materials.

Step 3: Educate and Raise Awareness:

Educate your audience about the environmental challenges your products address. Create content that explains the importance of sustainable choices and showcases the positive impact your products have on the planet. Use social media, blog posts, and videos to raise awareness and engage your audience.

Step 4: Transparency and Authenticity:

Be transparent about your sustainable practices. Share your journey toward sustainability, including challenges you’ve faced and improvements you’ve made. Authenticity builds trust with your audience and showcases your commitment to making a difference.

Step 5: Storytelling with Impact:

Craft compelling stories around your products and their positive effects on the environment. Share customer testimonials and success stories that emphasize the role your products play in promoting sustainable living.

Step 6: Packaging and Delivery:

Minimize packaging waste by using eco-friendly materials, reducing excess packaging, and ensuring your packaging is recyclable or biodegradable. Consider carbon-neutral shipping options to minimize your carbon footprint.

Step 7: Collaborate and Partner:

Collaborate with like-minded organizations, influencers, or non-profits that share your sustainability values. Joint initiatives and partnerships can amplify your message and expand your reach.

Step 8: Engage Your Community:

Encourage your customers to be a part of your sustainability journey. Organize challenges, events, or campaigns that promote eco-friendly behaviors. Use social media and email marketing to foster a sense of community around your brand.

Step 9: Continuous Improvement:

Regularly assess your sustainability efforts and adapt your marketing strategies as needed. Seek customer feedback, stay informed about industry trends, and explore innovative ways to further reduce your environmental impact.

Step 10: Measure and Showcase Impact:

Quantify and measure the impact of your sustainability efforts. Share your achievements with your audience to demonstrate your commitment and celebrate your progress. Use data-driven insights to refine your marketing strategy.

In conclusion, building a sustainable marketing system for everyday sales involves aligning your values with your products, educating your audience, and fostering an authentic and transparent connection. By integrating sustainability into your marketing efforts, you not only attract conscious consumers but also contribute to a more sustainable future while achieving your business goals. Remember that sustainability is an ongoing journey that requires continuous improvement and adaptation.

Identify your high converting traffic sources

The traffic sources of a website are as shown in the above image

“Other”
Paid search
Direct
Organic search
Display
Social
Referral

These are the most common ways people can find a website. Another thing you must know is that the conversion rates of a website can vary depending on the competition, the product , the country , and many other factors such as seasonality and how does a product sells.

There is no rule and it really there is no perfect sustainability. You as the owner of the business you should adjust your marketing efforts depending on how the market reacts.

In a few words the marketing you are making can boost your sales or kill your sales. You want to set a desirable target and find the ways you will achieve those results.

As you can see in the above image the highest and most profitable channel is organic search, and then comes the “other” channel. I must tell you that the other channel is my secret sauce to bring in sales. As you can see it has the most sustainable sales!

So how does this really works. In a very few steps, you have to understand what works on your website and you have to multiply it. But how do you identify what works on your website. You need some months running it and identify similar patterns that your website produces and try to amplify those wins with more traffic, higher purchase value per order and more sales.

Put your best products on top

Identify your most valuable products (best sellers) put them on top of each category and try to boost your organic traffic with seo techniques, keep adding valuable products for your clients, also if you are doing paid advertising you should be very careful with the words you choose as not all keywords bring in sales.

Start building your list

You must understand that you must start and build your list. If you want to know how to grow your list see our guide how to generate leads. The traffic that comes to your website mostly enter your website and then leave. In order for you to maximize your revenue potential you must grow your list. Build a lead magnet in order to consistently getting leads, build a follow up until something happens (propably a sale) Only and only then you can make a print on demand business worth it
